Friends of Highgate Brewery

This web site updated 29th MAY 2012

Ideas so far

If the brewery cannot be sold as a going concern, we are exploring the possibility of creating a Heritage Brewery Museum, with a limited brewing capacity alongside a training facility for new brewers.

We would hope to get English Heritage, National Lottery and/or Local University funding to achieve this.

Future of ‘Friends of Highgate Brewery’

Friends of Highgate Brewery will continue to operate and our main aim is now to spearhead the campaign to save the brewery. As such we have decided to suspend all non ring fenced charity donations and use our assets as a fighting fund.

We will continue to hold our away meetings as advertised and issue the usual 50p discount vouchers for beer, the venues and dates are as follows:

The Black Country Arms, 10th January 2011

The scheduled trips to Liverpool on 14th August and Hydes Brewery on 23rd October will also go ahead as planned.

All meetings at the brewery (including the ‘Old Ale Launch Day’ scheduled for 13th November) are now unfortunately cancelled until further notice.

We may be able to hold a Christmas party at another venue and will inform you nearer the time.

Thank you all for your support and understanding and I urge you to back the campaign to save the brewery in any way you can.

I hope to see as many of you as possible at Walsall Town Hall on 14th July at 7.30pm.

Cheers Everyone
